More than any other artist, Edward Hopper (1882-1967) made the visual iconography of the American city his own. This catalogue was produced to accompany the exhibition of his work held at Tate Modern, London from 27 May to 5 September 2004 which then toured to the Museum Ludwig, Cologne. In this show, Hopper's relationship with film and theatre is explored, along with his fascination with architecture, advertising, travel and popular culture.
