Inscription on title page from the author to Mr John Vinycomb (1833-1928), the Newcastle born artistic director of Marcus Ward in Belfast and an international expert in heraldry. 140pp. Sixteen chromolithographic plates, with tissue guards. Light soiling to the base of plate 6. Letter also included with book from the authors brother, Richard Ward, written from the offices of the New Zealand Herald, to Mr Vinycomb. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall
