Cream paper covered boards with titles in silver on spine. Condition: Good with light shelfwear to cove edges and light bumping to spine. Binding sound, light foxing to endpapers and textblock edges, text clean, no inscriptions. Dustjacket condition: Fair, b/w image pasted on to front cover, lightly soiled and quite foxed, with a couple of small tears around spine. Not price-clipped. 23 photographs by Alvin Langdon Coburn. Preface by Janet Adam Smith. This, Stepvenson's second book, was first published in 1879. The photographer Alvin Coburn, famous for his twenty-four frontispiece photographs in the New York edition of Henry James's works, took most of his photographs of Edinburgh in 1905, trying to look at the city "through Stevenson's eyes". Some of the places photographed have now vanished. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall
