Dark yellow ochre colour cloth with titles in gilt on spine. Condition: Good, with light shelfwear to cover edges. Binding sound, text clean, no inscriptions. Dustjacket condition: Fair, generally shelfworn with some sunning to spine. Not price-clipped. 76pp. The theme of The Old Man of the Mountains, Nicholsons' first verse play, is the story of Elijah and the Raven, but the story is transferred to modern times, and the scene is his native Cumberland, the countryside of which his poems display such intimate knowledge.
