New York William T.Comstock 1904 Cloth Good No Jacket
Dark green cloth with titles in black on cover and gilt on spine. Stamped gilt vignette of the American eagle surrounded by stars on cover. Condition: Good, spine and cover corners lightly worn and bumped, covers a little grubby. Top edge of textblock is gilt, the other two edges are uncut. Binding sound, pageblock and endpapers lightly browned, no marks or inscriptions. 182pp. 96 half-tone plates. Initially American architectural design was driven by the great national building commodity, i.e. wood, and as the wealth of the nation increased, stone was used.
