This book was produced to accompany the exhibition of engravings by Roger Vieillard held at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford from 26 October 1993 to 16 January 1994 and at the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff from 19 March to 15 May 1994. It was the first book in English on one of the greatest French engravers of the 20th century, incorporating a biographical memoir of the artist by his friend, the French academic Marc Fumaroli. Published on the occasion of Joseph Kosuth's installation 'Neither Appearance Nor Illusion', an exhibition in the Medieval Louvre, October 22nd 2009 to June 21st 2010. Joseph Kosuth installed on the foundation walls of the original Louvre palace 15 neon text lines he appropriated from an artwork he developed to be read on the Internet, a project for young artists at the Brooklyn Museum. Entitled 'Neither Appearance Nor Illusion' in reference to Nietzsche, it is one of the artist's most successful and spectacular installations to date. Many colour and b/w illustrations in Vol I, Vol II has only b/w illustrations. Oskar Schlemmer (1888-1943) was one of Germany's most important 20th century artists. The first volume, a thorough monograph which includes essays by Schlemmer published for the first time shows the diversity of the artist. The second volume provides a catalogue raisonne of Schlemmers' works, some 1527 in total - paintings, watercolours, drawings in pastel, and sculptures, all illustrated with detailed references to studies, other versions and quotations. The catalogue also includes tables of signatures, concordances, indices of exhibitions, subject titles and past and present owners.

The first edition of Ecce Homo was published in 1923 by Wieland Herzfeld in his publishing house, Malik-Verlag, Berlin. This edition was first published in Great Britain in 1967 by Methuen, London. Dustjacket condition: Fair to good, generally shelfworn with a couple of small repaired tears to base of spine. Price-clipped. 14 page introduction by Henry Miller, 16 colour plates, 84 b/w plates. The author, Sanda Miller was the first Western European historian to subject Constantin Brancusi (1876-1957) to exhaustive analysis. The material on Brancusi's childhood and training both as a craftsman and fine artist at the School of Art and Crafts in Craiova and the Academy of fine Arts in Bucharest respectively, provide a new basis for the assessment of his work, after as well as before his arrival in Paris.
