Ten issues in sequence from No. 1 to 10 of the French periodical Le Bambou, first issued on 15th January 1906.Privately bound together in a blue hardcover binding with title in gilt on spine. The front pastedown has C E Hubbard stamped in black and below it, Hubbards' signature. Issue no.1 of Le Bambou bears the inscription in ink "Hommage de l'auteur" and the signature of the author, Jean Houzeau De Lehaie below. The issues are all in very good condition, with light sunning to text edges. 1-295pp. Occasional b/w illustrations. Scarce. Size: 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall

Presentation copy. Second edition, with appendix. Scarlet cloth with titles in gilt on front cover. Pale yellow endpapers. All edges are red. Condition: Good, covers are generally lightly soiled and rubbed with bumping to spine and cover corners. Colour from the cover cloth has bled around the very edge of the front and rear endpapers. Fep has the inscription "presented by the author" in ink. Title page has a small white paper label with the number 289 on it in black, and a red stamp from the Birmingham and Midlands Counties Gardeners Mutual Society. Binding cracked internally in once place, otherwise sound. Text clean. 143pp. One double-page b/w image in the centre of the book, illustrating the diseases which can affect the carnation. Scarce. 12mo - over 6" - 7" tall
