Oatmeal colour cloth with title in dark brown on spine. Condition: Good, with light shelfwear to covers. Previous owners name in pencil on front endpaper. The first few pages have occasional underlining in pencil and crosses in margins. The names of the artists Crome and Cotman are written in pencil on the left-hand margin of p.34. Dustjacket condition: Fair, generally shelfworn with some light soiling and sunning, a couple of chips missing to edges and top of spine of jacket. 134pp. Four colour illustrations (inc.frontispiece) and sixty-four sepia illustrations.

This catalogue was produced to accompany the exhibition of work by Christopher Bramham (b.1952) held at Jonathan Clark & Co. Chelsea, London in 2016. Bramham was a close friend of Lucian Freud, and Freuds' influence is clear in his work.

This book consists of 12 colour plates by Sutherland, four poems written by Raffaele Carrieri for Graham Sutherland, in both Italian and English, and a selection of photographs (mostly b/w) by Giorgio Soavi taken on a trip to Pembrokeshire, Wales. Dustjacket condition: Fair, generally shelfworn and lightly soiled with sunning to spine and two 1.5 inch repaired tears to front cover. 13pp. text and 40 b/w plates. Scarce. Josef Herman (1911-2000) had one theme in his work, in both drawings and paintings: Man as Labourer and the surroundings of his working life, his home, family and landscape. A war emigre from Warsaw, he settled in Wales for ten years from 1944 before living in Scotland, Israel, Burgundy and London. The importance of his work was quickly recognised by art critics of the 1940's and 50's. 4to - over 9" - 12" tall
