Dark brown pebbled cloth with titles in gilt on spine. Condition: Fair to good, with light rubbing and shelfwear to covers. Binding sound apart from being cracked in a couple of places internally. Some pages unopened at top. Front pastedown has a bookplate bearing the name Balbirnie, with the motto "Virtus ad aethera tendit". Some light water damage to the inner edges of some of the text and plates. Light cockling to text throughout. 440pp. 22 b/w illustrations inc.frontispiece. 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall
