This book was published to accompany the exhibition of Hungarian Photography in the Twentieth Century held at the Royal Academy of Arts, London from 30 June to 2 October 2011. It examines how the photographers Brassai, Capa, Kertesz, Moholy-Nagy and Mukacsi revolutionised photojournalism and art photography in the first half of the 20th century, and is illustrated with their major works and a number by their contemporaries, in many cases using vintage prints from Hungarian collections.
