This is a monograph on the British painter (1913-1989). It is edited by the critic Alan Bowness who also writes the introduction and two distingushed foreign critics, Michel Ragon and Werner Schmalenbach whose shorter pieces are written in French and German. The book also contains a detailed biography, bibliography and lst of exhibitions to the date of pubication in 1964.
