Two paperbacks contained within private binding. The paperbacks are completely intact, i.e. covers, spine etc., encased within a red cloth hard cover with title in gilt on spine. The hardcover is in good condition, with some slight sunning to spine, and light bumping to top of spine. Previous owners bookplate on reverse of front cover. Light foxing to endpapers. The first paperback (Army Manual of Hygiene and Sanitation is a 1942 reprint of the 1934 first edition. It has light foxing to the covers and the previous owners name neatly written in red at the top of the front cover. 294pp. The second paperback (Regulations for the Medical Services of the Army, 1938) is a 1940 reprint and again has the previous owners name in red written at the top of the front cover. Light foxing to endpapers. 457pp. Size: 16mo - over 5" - 6" tall

Top edge gilt. Condition: Good, with school prize label (Elstree School) to front pastedown, dated 1939. Light cockling to vellum covers. Nine pages towards the centre of the book have some neat ink and pencil notes and occasional underlining. Remainder of the text clean. 249pp. Appears to be a limited edition, but no edition number stated. Size: 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall

This book presents a selection of Brechts theories on the theatre, in chronological order with explanatory notes to provide a linking thread. This makes it possible to understand how such concepts as The Epic Theatre and Alienation evolved. It also includes the Mahoganny notes, "The Street Scene" and the Short Organum.
